Day 1 - Salinas to Reno
MESSAGE FROM STEVE and SHERRY:
The banners are working. Got a number of thumbs up from truckers and people in cars. In slow traffic had one trucker yell "All right".

Steve and Sherry embarked this morning at 8:45 AM from the parking lot of Northminster Presbyterian Church in Salinas, CA. A group of friends joined in seeing them off with hugs, kisses and small gifts for the month's journey.
The first stop was to be the grocery store to pick up a few last-minute items. We wished them safe travel and promised to meet them here, online, to follow their adventure.
